Field trip to Living Coast Discovery Center
Learn about San Diego Bay's native wildlife and the ways you can promote wildlife conservation. Group field trips and guided tours are led by an interpretive guide who will discuss recycling, pollution, responsible outdoor recreation, and watershed protection. Seasonally available are Wildlife Guided tours where your guide will discuss various wildlife like raptors, shorebirds, sharks, plants, or other natural histories of the area and its wildlife. Visitors have the option to witness feedings of sharks, rays, sea turtles, and eagles each day. Feedings are accompanied by a public talk aimed to educate guests on the animal being fed.

The Living Coast Discovery Center offers other fun and engaging educational programs with content based on the grade levels of attending students. These presentations meet the Common Core State Standards as well! Ranging in topics from crabs and plants for Kindergarten through second grade, squid and fish dissection for 4th and 5th graders, watershed chemistry for middle school grades, to Jr. Ichthyologist for high school grades. There is truly something for everyone!
