Field trip to Mission La Purisima Concepcion - 11th mission
Rewind time and experience the most extensively restored mission in the state of California. Once home to the Chumash people and Spanish settlers, Mission La Purisima was founded in 1787 and sits on a nearly 2,000-acre state park interspersed with 25 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails. Check out the Exhibit Hall as well as the Visitor Center and explore the heritage of California.

Schools and youth organizations may reserve programs and tours on the website. The Mission also offers teachers the option of embarking on a guided tour. No tours are currently offered for grades younger than 3rd.

Mission La Purisima Concepcion offers some amazing alternatives for schools that are unable to travel to them. Their outreach program will bring the Mission to your classroom! The curriculum is tailored to your grade level and includes wildlife pelts, Chumash History, Weaving, and much more. Classroom Skype tours are also available.
