The UAM collections are a permanent archive of contemporary culture, presented as major exhibitions, offered for examination by students and scholars, and circulated to national institutions. The University Art Museum at CSU Long Beach creates exhibitions and education programs that provide space for interpretation of contemporary and modern art and culture.
The UAM is an art gallery hosting rotating shows of work by students & international artists. The University Art Museum ranks in the top 10% of the nation's more than 6,000 museums. Its permanent collection contains primarily abstract expressionist paintings, works on paper, and an outdoor sculpture garden.

Admission to the UAM is always free.
